Privoxy 3.0.22 64 bit.pkg

This release is for 64 bit Intel processors running OS X 10.6 or higher. It bundles a recent version of the PCRE library (see * below for details of why this is a good thing).


The Privoxy 3.0.22 releases supporting OS X versions lower than 10.6 have been withdrawn due to a packaging error - they did not include the correct version of the PCRE supporting libraries and hence would not work at all on vanilla installations.



* External PCRE library notes

Privoxy's source code includes a very out of date version of the PCRE (Perl-Compatible Regular Expression) library's source (V3.0). This library is used to match actions and filters against the URLs you browse to, so bundling a more recent version (V8.21) improves accuracy and speed when processing URLs.
